ScouterSynth — Support
The whole manual is inside the app: press SELECT + B for the chords on the page you are looking at, then A to open the full guide.
Getting started
The app opens with a demo song loaded so there is something to hear — press START. B and a direction travels: up and down changes which part of the app you are in, left and right walks the pages in it, and holding B shows the map of all of them. The guide's walkthrough builds a complete song from an empty one in about twenty minutes.
Common questions
- Where are my songs and exports?
- In the Files app, under On My iPhone → ScouterSynth. Songs, samples and exported WAVs are all there, and you can copy them out or drop files in.
- An import was refused.
- A project holds up to 64 MB of audio. The app converts what it can — MP3, AAC, M4A, AIFF and WAV — but a file that would push the project over the limit is refused rather than something being thrown away to make room.
- The sound stopped when I locked the screen.
- It should not: the app keeps playing in the background. If it stopped, check that another app did not take the audio session — a phone call or another music app will.
- My controller does nothing.
- Pair it in iOS Settings first, then open SETUP → CONTROLLER in the app and teach it each button. Nothing is assumed about which pad you have.
- Can I get my song out as audio?
- Yes — SETUP → SONG → EXPORT WAV renders the whole arrangement to a file in the Files app.
Reporting something broken
Say what you were on screen, what you pressed, and what happened instead. If the app
crashed, the iOS crash report (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics &
Improvements → Analytics Data, anything beginning ScouterSynth) is worth
more than any description.
